Post-operative kidney cancer patients’ diet should be rich in high-quality protein.
Foods that can be eaten after kidney cancer surgery: 1. Staple foods: steamed buns, noodles, rice, bread, starch products (cold skin, cold noodles, vermicelli, etc.), which do not contain protein, can provide sufficient energy for patients without making them eat more non-quality protein, and are good staple food sources for patients, so they can try to eat more of such staple foods in daily life. 2. Protein: high-quality protein with high protein content The first choice of protein sources for patients with kidney disease is high-quality protein with a high content, a complete range of essential amino acids and the right ratio of essential amino acids, such as milk, lean meat, fish and shrimp, eggs, etc.
Post-operative patients with kidney cancer can choose any vegetables and fruits if they do not have symptoms of high or low potassium. If hyperkalemia occurs, vegetables and fruits with high potassium content such as avocados, red fruits, spinach, round peppers, etc. should be restricted.
Water intake: The water intake for kidney patients is the previous day’s urine volume plus 500-800 mL, and the diet should be supplemented with water-soluble vitamins.
