The visual aura is the appearance of shiny dark spots, bright lights and visual field defects. The duration of the headache is 4-72 hours and can last more than three days in severe cases, while the diagnostic criteria for migraine are no visual aura, five or more headache attacks, or visual aura, two or more headache attacks with the above typical migraine manifestations and a headache duration of 4-72 hours. If the headache worsens when the patient sees light or hears sound and is accompanied by nausea and vomiting, the diagnosis of migraine is basically confirmed.
