The aortic sinus is the part of the heart where the left ventricle connects to the aorta, also called the sinotubular junction area. The normal value of the aortic sinus section is less than 35mm, if the aortic sinus undergoes dilatation resulting in an expansion of the normal value, which is greater than 50mm or more, this is known as dilatation of the ascending aorta, which is something that needs to be treated surgically. There are two types of surgeries, the first is to carry out the ascending aorta replacement, the second is the ascending aorta plus aortic arch replacement, the surgery is to replace the original dilated aorta with an artificial blood vessel to achieve the purpose of human health. After the surgery, long-term cardiotonic and diuretic medications, such as digoxin and spironolactone, are required. Regular checkups are also required, and the dosage of the medication is adjusted according to the results of the checkups.
