Stroke is a cerebrovascular accident, mainly including cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, subarachnoid hemorrhage, etc., and is currently the first cause of death in China. Some stroke patients, when the onset of the surface looks less serious, such as only a slight mouth distortion, or numbness and weakness of the hands and feet, or only transient symptoms, a few hours or even a few minutes to return to normal, is often called “small stroke”, the medical more belong to the lacunar infarction, transient ischemic attack, etc.. Many people do not pay much attention to such strokes, thinking that the impact is not significant, rest can get better, not to mention the need for hospitalization, in fact, is a misconception. The occurrence of stroke is not formed overnight, nor is it caused by a single factor, but is the result of the long-term effect of multiple risk factors, such as unchangeable factors: age, gender, geography; there are also factors that can intervene: hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, smoking, alcohol consumption, and even vascular malformations. Once a stroke occurs, whether it is severe or not, it suggests that the patient already has certain risk factors that lead to stroke, and a mini-stroke is no exception. For example, about 1/3 of patients who have a transient ischemic attack will have another attack within a week, even becoming a severe infarction. Stroke, whether hemorrhagic or ischemic, has few effective methods and limited effects in the acute phase; once it causes sequelae such as hemiplegia, aphasia or even dementia, recovery is very difficult. Therefore, prevention is crucial for stroke disease and is better than cure. Therefore, patients with “small strokes” should not be neglected because they are “small”, but should be screened for risk factors and targeted interventions as early as possible. The most effective way to prevent “major” strokes is to go to the hospital for screening for risk factors and early targeted intervention. If the stroke becomes severe, then treatment will be very passive.
