Stroke paralysis refers to symptoms such as limb inability, speech impairment or partial blindness, and refers to modern medicine cerebrovascular accident (including hemorrhagic and ischemic) disease, with rapid onset and age generally over 40 years old as the most common. At present, there is a common problem in the treatment of stroke paralysis, whether it is ischemic or hemorrhagic disease in the acute stage, Western medicine does not advocate acupuncture, and wait until the condition is stable, the limb has been paralyzed, the best recovery time has passed, then the patient acupuncture, at this time has missed the best time for limb recovery, so that the passive loss of neurological function. Therefore, Professor Shi Xuemin, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a famous acupuncturist, pioneered the method of acupuncture to awaken the brain and open the orifices, treating thousands of cases of acute cerebrovascular diseases (including hemorrhagic and ischemic), all receiving clinically significant results, and also giving a precedent to the majority of acupuncture workers. From the current technology of each medical unit, the general treatment of stroke disease is not a big problem to keep the patient alive, but how to make the patient stand up again, talk again, improve the quality of life and return to society as soon as possible. Our acupuncture department has a long history of treating acute cerebrovascular disease – stroke paralysis, and is now a key specialty construction unit of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, a key discipline of traditional Chinese medicine in Shandong Province, and a key medical specialty of Jinan City, with the main direction of stroke disease. Here, the majority of patients and their families are advised that once someone has suffered a stroke, acupuncture is preferable to early rather than late when the vital signs are stable, and early intervention with acupuncture treatment can reduce the disability rate of patients to varying degrees and shorten the recovery period significantly. The acupuncture we are talking about is based on the combination of Chinese and Western medicine, and is not a single shot to treat stroke with acupuncture only, but a rehabilitation method that intervenes as early as possible under the current drug treatment.
