Acupuncture Methods for Guanyuan Point

Guanyuan point needs to be needled after urination, straight, and can be used for blood in urine, leucorrhea, blood in stool, and hernia. Guanyuan point is an acupoint of the Ren vein and is located in the lower abdomen, on the anterior midline, 3 inches below the umbilicus. It needs to be needled after urination and is also mostly used with moxibustion, with caution for pregnant women. Acupuncture Guanyuan acupoint can be used for treating the symptoms of deficiency of vital energy, such as stroke dislocation, leanness and weakness, deficiency and coldness; dysentery, blood in stool, diarrhea, prolapse of anus and other intestinal disorders; hernia, pain in the lesser abdomen; impotence, premature ejaculation, spermatorrhea, leucorrhoea (cloudy urine like white pulp) and other gynecological disorders. It can also be used for anterior yin diseases such as blood in urine, frequent urination, five gonorrhea, urinary closure; dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, irregular menstruation, yin ting (women with prolapsed uterus or even out of the vaginal opening), metrorrhagia (excessive menstruation or dribbling), cystocele not being unable to (after the delivery of the fetus, the placenta can’t be delivered after a long period of time) and other gynecological disorders; health care moxibustion points in common use.
