Waking up at 2-3 o’clock in the middle of the night is early awakening, which is a sleep disorder, commonly seen in insomnia, a pathological disorder of one’s own sleep rhythm, and mostly seen in depression patients. Inability to fall asleep again after waking up leads to significantly shorter sleep time and dizziness, weakness of limbs, lack of concentration, and decreased work and study efficiency when waking up the next day. Patients are advised to visit a neurologist or psychiatrist to improve the examination of depression self-rating scale and anxiety self-rating scale. Patients may be predominantly depressed, and if the score is greater than 40, oral anti-anxiety or antidepressant medication is recommended. Oral prolonged sleep medications, such as alprazolam and dexrazopiclone, can also be taken.
