The X-leg is usually fixed with a closed femoral osteotomy plate and can be moved to the ground on the second day after surgery, with partial weight-bearing with the aid of a double crutch. A review will be conducted 1.5 months after surgery to determine whether to abandon the crutches depending on the healing of the osteotomy. Generally, the osteotomies heal in 3 months after surgery and the patient can gradually return to normal life.
