Boogers are a normal physiological phenomenon. Boogers are a kind of secretion formed by the combination of dust, bacteria and mucus from the nasal cavity. The human nasal cavity has many hair follicles at the entrance of the nasal cavity, which normally secrete a lot of secretions to lubricate and protect the nose. However, when the secretions are dry, they tend to fuse with the new dust and bacteria outside the nasal cavity, thus forming boogers. If a patient has acute rhinitis or acute sinusitis, when the nasal secretions are particularly high, the amount of boogers will increase accordingly. For the treatment of boogers, it is not recommended that patients dig their noses by hand. The hazards of digging the nose by hand include: 1. unsightly; 2. easy to damage the nasal mucosa and lead to secondary infection. It is recommended to use a tissue to reach into the nasal cavity to pull out the boogers, or use saline to rinse the nasal cavity to flush out the boogers.
