Life expectancy of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a type of cardiomyopathy that is mainly due to hypertrophy of the septum of the ventricles, which results in reduced systolic and diastolic function of the heart and seriously affects the patient’s health. Often hypertrophic cardiomyopathy appears congenitally, and the life expectancy of patients with this condition is within one year if the condition is not treated aggressively. If the patient is given regular treatment, as well as systematic examination to determine the treatment plan, the life expectancy may be extended to 5-10 years. In terms of treatment, cardiac strengthening, diuretic and myocardial nutrition are given, and if necessary, the hypertrophied septum can be removed to achieve a longer life expectancy.
