How to treat a toothache

Toothache may be caused by caries, pulpitis, dentin sensitivity and other diseases, and treatment should be taken according to the cause. Caries needs to be treated by filling, pulpitis needs to be treated by root canal and dentin sensitivity needs to be treated by desensitization as follows.
1. Caries: Deeper cavities may cause tooth pain after embedding in food or entering cold water. The treatment is filling treatment, removing the decayed tooth tissue and using composite resin to fill and repair the defective part of the tooth.
2. Pulpitis: Inflammation of the pulp leads to high pressure in the pulp cavity, which may cause spontaneous pain, and hot and cold stimulation may cause or aggravate the pain. The treatment is root canal therapy, including root canal preparation, root canal disinfection and root canal filling.
3. Dentin sensitivity: Due to the exposure of dentin, toothache may occur when the tooth is subjected to hot, cold, acid, sweet and mechanical stimuli. It needs to be treated by desensitization, such as local application of desensitizing agents such as sodium fluoride glycerin, and the medication should be used under the guidance of a doctor.
There may be other reasons for toothache, and it is recommended to visit the hospital in time to receive professional treatment.
