Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic systemic autoimmune disease characterized by synovitis of the joints. The persistent and recurrent attacks of synovitis can lead to destruction of cartilage and bone in the joints, joint dysfunction, and even disability. Vasculitis lesions involve all organs of the body, so the disease is also known as rheumatoid disease. The first People’s Hospital of Guangzhou City, Department of Bone and Joint Xinghua Rheumatoid arthritis, also known as rheumatoid (RA), is a chronic systemic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology, with chronic, symmetrical, multiple synovial arthritis and extra-articular lesions as the main clinical manifestations, belonging to autoimmune inflammatory diseases. The disease occurs in small joints of the hands, wrists and feet, with recurrent attacks and symmetrical distribution. In the early stage, there is redness, swelling, pain and dysfunction of the joints, and in the late stage, the joints may have varying degrees of stiffness and deformity, with atrophy of bone and skeletal muscle, which is very disabling. From the perspective of pathological changes, rheumatoid arthritis is a widespread inflammatory disease that primarily involves the synovial membrane (which can later spread to articular cartilage, bone tissue, joint ligaments and muscle bonds), followed by the plasma membrane, heart, lungs and connective tissues such as the eyes. The systemic manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis include fever, fatigue, pericarditis, subcutaneous nodules, pleurisy, arteritis, and peripheral neuropathy, in addition to joint lesions. In addition to inflammatory lesions in the joints, rheumatoid arthritis in the broad sense also includes widespread lesions throughout the body. Symptoms: 1. Pain with fever, you may have infectious arthritis. 2.Whether due to trauma or unknown causes, pain and stiffness develop rapidly, perhaps you are experiencing a rheumatoid arthritis attack. 3.After a short period of sitting or standing or a night’s sleep with pain and stiffness in the arms, legs or back, you may have osteoarthritis or other joint lesions. 4. Children with pain or rash in the arm pit, knee, wrist or ankle, or with fluctuating fever, poor appetite, weight loss, may have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
