Whether gastrointestinal tumor can be cured depends on whether it is a benign gastrointestinal tumor or malignant gastrointestinal tumor. For benign gastrointestinal tumors, such as intestinal polyps or gastrointestinal diverticulum, they can be cured by surgical resection or endoscopic treatment. For malignant gastrointestinal tumors, radical surgical resection is needed, and postoperative adjuvant treatment, such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy, should be performed according to the pathology of postoperative resection. Lymph node metastasis needs postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, and those with radiotherapy indication also need postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy, such as positive lymph node margins. Therefore, whether gastrointestinal tumor can be cured or not depends on whether it is benign or malignant, benign can be cured, malignant can be cured in the early stage, but once metastasis occurs and belongs to the advanced stage, it is more difficult to be cured.
