Cleansing enema is one of the common methods used in clinical treatment of intestinal obstruction, incomplete intestinal obstruction and preoperative preparation. Cleansing enema uses 0.1%-0.2% warm soapy water or clean water 500-1000ml, through the anus from the anal canal, rectum slowly into the colon to stimulate intestinal peristalsis, to help the patient discharge feces and gas accumulation in the intestinal tract method. Preoperative cleaning enema can be the patient’s intestinal feces and gas fully discharged, to prevent because of the relaxation of the anal sphincter after anesthesia led to the discharge of feces contamination of the operating table, increasing the chance of infection, but also can reduce the postoperative abdominal discomfort.
