Pathology section results in a few days

To be precise, it should take a few days for the pathology report to be issued for the pathology examination. Generally, the pathology report is issued in about three days for routine histopathology examination. Because the production process of pathology section is more complicated, the first day to take the material and then fixed, dehydration, need to be overnight, the next day and then embedding, sectioning, staining, to reach the hands of the pathologist also to observe the section, the production of reports, so it usually takes about three days. The size of the specimen also affects the time for report issuance, with larger specimens taking longer and smaller specimens taking shorter time. For some radical tumor specimens or difficult cases, further immunohistochemical staining or special staining is needed, and even molecular pathology testing is required, which will take longer time, usually ranging from one to several days. The time to issue the report varies among hospitals. Small hospitals may have shorter disposition time than large hospitals because of the small size of the pathology department and the relatively small workload of the staff, without additional auxiliary diagnostic measures. Large hospitals, on the other hand, have large pathology departments with more workload per capita and cases that require additional immunohistochemical molecular testing, etc., so the time required is usually longer.
