How to Rehabilitate After Surgery

Postoperative rehabilitation training is mainly related to factors such as the site of injury, the cause of injury, and the severity of the condition. Generally, it can be divided into three stages of rehabilitation training: early, middle and late.
1. Early stage: The early stage of postoperative rehabilitation is based on protection. It is common that the affected area should be properly rested, bandaged with pressure, and the affected limb should be elevated. Cold therapy and other physiotherapy methods can be used to promote the repair of local tissues, while appropriate mobility exercises and muscle strength training can be carried out on the uninjured parts, and isometric muscle contraction exercises and passive joint mobility exercises can be carried out on the injured parts depending on the injury.
2. Mid-term: Add appropriate low-intensity rehabilitation training in the mid-term of postoperative period. It mainly includes joint mobility training such as soft tissue stretching and active joint movement; low-intensity resistance muscle strength training; low-intensity stability training and so on. In case of lower limb injury, appropriate weight-bearing training, walking training and stair training can be carried out according to the situation.
3. Post-operative period: Post-operative period is mainly to restore function. This includes increasing the intensity of muscle strength training; increasing the difficulty of joint stability training; neuromuscular control training; functional activity training such as running and jumping.
It is recommended that postoperative patients seek medical treatment in a timely manner and carry out correct rehabilitation training under the guidance of professional doctors and therapists. Avoid blind training on your own to avoid adverse consequences.
