How many days of bleeding after cervical polyp surgery is considered normal

After cervical polyp surgery, the patient’s bleeding lasts about 3-7 days, but it needs to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. The bleeding from cervical polyp surgery is low and some patients can recover quickly, i.e. the symptoms of vaginal bleeding are relieved after 3 days. If the patient is less fit, the recovery will be slower and the bleeding symptoms may take up to 7 days to fade away, but usually not more than 7 days. If the patient still has vaginal bleeding after 7 days, it may be due to post-operative infection or the bleeding may be caused by the reopening of blood vessels in the surgical wound, and the patient needs to go to the hospital gynecology department for a review to clarify the diagnosis. If the bleeding is caused by an infection, the patient needs to take antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor for effective treatment. If the bleeding is caused by the reopening of blood vessels, vaginal tamponade and other methods should be taken to stop the bleeding in time. After cervical polyp surgery, patients need to pay attention to rest, do not engage in strenuous exercise, pay attention to personal hygiene, keep the vulva clean, and prohibit sexual intercourse for 1 month after surgery. If the bleeding does not end, it is recommended to go to the hospital gynecology department in time to improve the relevant examination and actively cooperate with the treatment.
