Varicose veins in the lower extremities are common and multi-infarct. They cause heaviness, soreness and pain in the lower extremities, and if left untreated, dermatitis, hyperpigmentation, edema and ulcers can occur. The traditional treatment method is to perform high level ligation and stripping of veins. Due to the many incisions, trauma, bleeding and slow recovery, the hospital stay is as long as 2-3 weeks. Therefore, most patients are afraid of surgery. The Department of Vascular Surgery of Taian Central Hospital has been committed to the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins in the lower limbs, and currently all of them adopt the latest minimally invasive treatment methods in China. These include radiofrequency saphenous vein closure, superficial vein electrocoagulation, and lumpectomy traffic vein electrocoagulation closure. Minimally invasive treatment has the advantages of less trauma, less pain, no bleeding, faster recovery, shorter hospital stay, beautiful postoperative appearance, and no stitch removal. Patients only need to be hospitalized for 5-7 days. All patients were able to move around 6 hours after surgery. In May 2006, our hospital introduced the most advanced varicose vein treatment equipment in the province – CNC radiofrequency closure device, which is specialized in treating varicose veins of lower limbs. In the past 5 years, we have treated nearly 1000 patients and achieved good treatment effect. Since the development of radiofrequency treatment of varicose veins of lower limbs, the number of mild and moderate patients has increased exponentially, while before this part of patients are mostly unwilling to operate. Radiofrequency treatment of varicose veins has the advantages of: minimally invasive, less painful, fast recovery, postoperative aesthetics, safety, exact efficacy, etc., which has been recognized and praised by the majority of patients. The vascular surgery department of the central hospital strongly recommends that the majority of patients with varicose veins in the lower limbs should be treated early once the disease is diagnosed, and prolonged delay will lead to aggravation of the disease, and will cause deep veins and traffic veins to backflow and more serious stasis in the lower limbs.
