Is nail fungus an orthopedic clinic?

Nail fungus is a purulent infection of the soft tissues around the toe (finger) and is treated in general surgery or, of course, in orthopedic surgery if the infection is not controlled and spreads to form some bony disease. The initial stage of common nail infection is only redness and pain around the toe (finger) nail, some of which can be relieved quickly with treatment, while others quickly become septic, showing that the abscess around the nail bed gradually spreads to the underside of the nail bed, forming an abscess of the toe (finger), which requires incision and drainage to control the infection. If the infection is not well controlled by antibiotics, osteomyelitis is likely to develop, and in the case of osteomyelitis, there will be obvious symptoms of systemic toxicity and destruction of bone, requiring treatment in an orthopedic department.
