Screening items for nail visible transverse groove spinning

Pediatric mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome (MCLS), also known as Kawasaki disease, is a disease that was first reported by Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki in Japan in 1967 and named after him. It is an acute febrile pediatric disease with systemic vasculitis as the main lesion. The high incidence is in infants and children under 5 years of age, more in males than females, and less in adults and children under 3 months of age. During the recovery period, cross-groove spinning of the nails may be visible.       Clinical manifestations may include fever, rash, enlarged non-purulent lymph nodes in the neck, congestion of the ocular conjunctiva, diffuse congestion of the oral mucosa, prune tongue, palmoplantar erythema, and hard edema of the hands and feet. The incidence of the disease is 20% to 25% in untreated children due to the serious cardiovascular complications that can occur. So what are the examination items of the disease? 1. Laboratory tests Serological tests such as elevated white blood cell count, increased platelets, elevated C-reactive protein, accelerated sedimentation, etc., as well as attention to the presence of liver and kidney function impairment and elevated D-dimer. 2. Ancillary tests In particular, we should pay attention to the performance of cardiac ultrasound and electrocardiogram, suggesting the presence of cardiovascular complications such as coronary artery dilation and myocardial damage.
