Statins belong to the class of lipid-lowering drugs, mainly used in cardiovascular diseases with high blood lipids, such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension, atherosclerotic heart disease, etc. At present, the existing commonly used statins in China include simvastatin, lovastatin, fluvastatin, atorvastatin, pravastatin, revastatin and its pitavastatin. They can also be used for non-lipid-regulating effects, improving intravascular cell function, inhibiting the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, inhibiting platelet aggregation and antithrombotic effects, which are beneficial to prevent the formation of atherosclerosis.
