What are the precautions to be taken after TIPS intervention?

1, TIPS only establishes a floodway to reduce or eliminate the risk of esophagogastric variceal bleeding, and has no therapeutic effect on the primary pathology of cirrhosis. Therefore, postoperative patients should actively treat the primary disease, such as liver protection, anti-hepatitis virus treatment, alcohol cessation, and pay attention to rest. 2. Hepatic encephalopathy after TIPS is mainly a transient abnormality of consciousness and mental status, related to poor liver function, constipation, infection, and excessive protein intake. If it occurs, it can be restored to normal by routine treatment in the gastroenterology department of a general hospital. The occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy can be avoided by taking appropriate measures. Patients should pay attention to the following after surgery: (1) Keep stools open once a day; (2) Control protein intake by eating 50-100 grams of high quality protein such as beef, lamb and fish daily. (3) If constipation occurs, take lactulose or have an enema in the hospital.
