Chronic pyelonephritis can be treated by general treatment and medication.
1. General treatment: patients with pyelonephritis should drink enough water every day, drink more water and urinate frequently to promote the accelerated discharge of bacteria and inflammatory secretions. Those with obvious signs of urinary tract irritation should rest in bed.
2. Drug treatment: drug treatment is mainly anti-infection. Commonly used drugs such as ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, cefotaxime sodium, ceftriaxone sodium, etc., can play an antibacterial role, thus improving symptoms. Antipyretic and analgesic agents, such as ibuprofen, can be given to patients with accompanying symptoms such as high fever and pain.
It is recommended that patients with chronic pyelonephritis actively cooperate with doctors for treatment to avoid delay. They should follow the doctor’s instructions to use the medication in full dosage and course, and should not stop or increase or decrease the dosage of the medication privately, so as to avoid the progress of the disease or the emergence of adverse reactions.
