Pain after wisdom tooth extraction is most likely due to a variety of factors, which may be the presence of infection, or may be related to the patient’s excessive psychological concern, and generally has little to do with the drinking habits before the extraction. However, if a patient drinks alcohol before the wound has fully grown after extraction, the pain may occur or be made worse by alcohol irritation of the wound.
