What should I take for pain after wisdom tooth extraction?

If the pain is only mild or moderate, the patient can be relieved by antibiotics as well as analgesic drugs, usually penicillin, amoxicillin and ibuprofen are the drugs of choice. If the pain persists and is not relieved, and upon examination, complications such as gum tears and infections are found, medication will need to be taken to control the infection and relieve the pain, in addition to other symptomatic treatments such as debridement and suturing.
