How long after varicocele surgery to review

After varicocele surgery, a review is recommended after 3 months. Varicocele is a condition in which the veins in the spermatic cord become tortuous and dilated, resulting in poor blood flow to the spermatic cord, thus causing an increase in the temperature of the scrotum and affecting the spermatogenic function of the testes. Varicocele is done by ligating the spermatic vein at a high level and then re-establishing the collateral circulation, which can improve the clinical symptoms of the patient. Therefore, it takes about 3 months for the review to allow the body to produce new collateral circulation and improve the patient’s clinical symptoms. After having varicocele surgery it is recommended to review the spermatic vein ultrasound.
