What does it mean when a nodule in the lung is considered a proliferative focus?

Nodules in the lungs are considered to be proliferative foci and are mostly thought to be the result of incomplete absorption of tuberculosis lesions. Imaging of tuberculosis infection in the lung mostly shows inflammatory exudate, nodules, proliferation, fibrosis, calcification, pleural thickening, and cavitation, polymorphic changes of pulmonary tuberculosis, including proliferative lesions. Therefore, if a pulmonary nodule occurs in the tip or upper lobe of the lung, with a previous course of treatment for tuberculosis, it can be considered a proliferative nodule due to incomplete absorption, which does not require treatment, and it is recommended to quit smoking and change lifestyle habits. If you have diabetes mellitus, you still need to control blood glucose closely, because if blood glucose fluctuates too much or increases, it can lead to reactivation of proliferative lesions in the lung, which means that Mycobacterium tuberculosis can reactivate and lead to recurrence of tuberculosis, which in turn can lead to transmission of tuberculosis.
