How long can you live with a brain tumor?

The survival period of brain tumors is related to the nature, location and treatment of tumors. Benign tumors may survive for a long time, while the survival time of malignant tumors cannot be determined, but through reasonable treatment, life expectancy can be effectively extended. If benign brain tumor can be detected early and treated timely and effectively, such as surgical resection, it can usually be cured and may not have any effect on life expectancy. In contrast, if it is a malignant brain tumor, the effect may not be very satisfactory through comprehensive treatment such as surgery and radiotherapy. Take glioma as an example, glioma is divided into 4 grades. The five-year survival rate of grade 2 glioma is about 50% after treatment, while the survival period of grade 3 glioma is about 3 years, and grade 4 glioma has only about 1 year survival period. Patients with brain tumor need to pay attention to their diet, preferably light diet, avoid high fat and high salt diet, and actively cooperate with doctors to improve the quality of life and prolong the survival period to some extent.
