Side effects and contraindications of forsythia tea

The adverse reactions and contraindications of forsythia are currently unknown.
Forsythia is slightly cold in nature, bitter in flavor, and belongs to the lung, heart and small intestine meridians. It has the efficacy of dispersing wind-heat, clearing heat and removing toxins, subduing swellings and dispersing lumps.
It can be used for the treatment of high fever and thirst, dizziness and spotting caused by heat entering the camp and blood (the degree of invasion of heat into the body is deep and the symptoms are more serious), fever, sore throat and thirst caused by the initial onset of wind-warmth, as well as phlegm nuclei and scrofula, carbuncles with redness, swelling and unresolved ulceration, mammary carbuncle (red, swollen and painful breasts with milk not discharged smoothly, and ultimately forming a suppurative disease), dysuria (unruly urine), dysuria, and dyspareunia and astringent pain in urination.
The side effects and contraindications of taking forsythia tea are not clear. Forsythia is often decocted as a medicine, and the efficacy and effect of drinking it as a substitute tea is limited, and it cannot be used as a substitute for medication in the treatment of diseases.
If symptoms of physical discomfort occur, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital, follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, do not blindly use their own medication, so as not to delay the condition.
