How often do you have to have a gastroscopy if you have multiple gastric polyps?

Multiple gastric polyps can usually be reviewed with a gastroscopy once every six months to a year. Gastric polyps are benign lesions that can be asymptomatic or present with a range of gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Patients with multiple untreated gastric polyps should have a repeat gastroscopy every six months to a year to avoid missing them. It should be noted that if the type of polyp belongs to adenomatous polyps, it needs more attention, because this type of polyp is more likely to develop malignant changes, usually need to be reviewed every six months, and once malignant changes should be removed in a timely manner. Non-adenomatous polyps have a relatively low rate of malignancy, but they also need to be reviewed once a year, and if there is no change after several reviews, they can be reviewed again every other year.
