My academic successor published “2 cases of carotid plaque treated by Duan Yanming with the method of tonifying qi and resolving stasis” in the Journal of Modern Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, 12, 2013; mentioned that a pharmacist was 79 years old with carotid plaque and stenosis of 75-90% and was afraid of surgical treatment, as reported in the Pudong New Area Times, 10.18.2011. He came for treatment on 10.26.2011, and after half a year, the rate dropped to 60%; after a year, it dropped to 40%, and it has been 4 years since then, and he has no uncomfortable symptoms in today’s telephone follow-up. This patient is 83 years old this year. On June 24, he had a review of carotid ultrasound test and the report showed that the carotid plaque was 8.0*2.7mm and the percentage of stenosis in the left carotid artery was 50%. However, the patient has no discomfort symptoms at present. The Chinese medicine prescription was slightly adjusted and continued to be taken.
