Is one dose of the cervical cancer vaccine enough?

Some studies have shown that a single dose of cervical cancer vaccine can provide protection with the same efficacy as the three-dose regimen, but due to the lack of data on the long-term protective efficacy of the three-dose vaccine, the three-dose regimen is still used in China. It is recommended to receive the three-dose vaccine according to the current vaccination process. According to the opinion of the World Health Organization expert group, only 1 dose of cervical cancer vaccine can produce the same immune effect of 2 to 3 doses, which can effectively prevent cervical cancer caused by HPV (human papillomavirus) infection. The duration of immunity brought about by 1 dose is still under follow-up observation, and if it goes well, 1 dose of cervical cancer vaccine will be sufficient in the future. However, due to the lack of data on long-term protection effectiveness, China and most countries are still using the 3-dose regimen, and it is recommended to follow the current vaccination process for the entire vaccination. Bivalent vaccine (9~45 years old can be vaccinated) can prevent HPV (human papillomavirus) 16, 18 infections, 3 shots of vaccination time for the 0th, 1, June; quadrivalent (9~45 years old) can prevent 6, 11, 16, 18 and other four subtypes of HPV infections, the time of vaccination for the 0th, 2, June; nine-valent (16~26 years old), can prevent 16, 18, 33 and other nine types of HPV. The vaccination time is the same as the quadrivalent vaccine. It is recommended to follow the doctor’s advice to complete the vaccination within the stipulated time.
