What should I do if I have a lumbar strain?

Lumbar muscle strain is a common problem for many people and one of the main causes of chronic lower back pain. Lumbar muscle strain mainly occurs in three types of people: (1) a group of people who work bent over for a long time, such as porters, with excessive fatigue of the lumbar muscles and cumulative injury of the lumbar muscles; (2) people with long-term repeated lumbar overload, such as those who sit for long periods of time and lack physical exercise, so that the lumbar muscles are in a state of high tension for a long time, leading to chronic lumbar muscle strain; (3) people with acute lumbar sprains that are not treated in a timely manner and treated in an improper way, leading to people with aseptic inflammation of the lumbar muscle. The clinical manifestations of lumbar muscle strain are mainly symptoms of lumbar pain that are sometimes light and sometimes heavy, generally improving after rest and increasing after exertion, not being able to sit and stand for a long time, having to change position frequently, not being able to insist on bending work, and having pressure points in the lumbar region. So, how to treat lumbar muscle strain? The treatment varies for different reasons. If it is the above-mentioned category 1 people, then you need to surround the waist protection, and change the way of work, such as the use of squatting instead of bending, to reduce the force on the waist, to avoid aggravation of the disease; category 2 people, if you need to sit for a long time to work, you should take the initiative to interrupt the continuous work state, get up and move the waist, and do some lumbar functional exercises at night, such as lying prone in bed before going to bed, do the two head cocking action (also But functional exercise should be gradual, not a handful and not forced, otherwise it may lead to the aggravation of symptoms, or often participate in swimming is also good; if the third group of people, you can usually apply hot compresses to the parts of lumbar pain, when necessary, you can use topical anti-inflammatory and analgesic creams or oral non-steroidal drugs, or go to a regular hospital for physical therapy, acupuncture and so on. You can also perform functional exercises or lumbar spine exercises for people in category 2 to enhance the strength of the lumbar back muscles. Of course, no matter what the cause of lumbar strain, choosing the right mattress and the correct sleeping posture is also crucial to the treatment. Mattress to choose soft and hard moderate, too soft and too hard mattress is not good for the lumbar spine; from the point of view of force, although the side lying lumbar disc force is lying flat three times, but than standing and sitting position force is still much smaller, so lying and side lying can, do not deliberately keep a certain sleeping position, as long as comfortable. Finally, any treatment is not as good as prevention, so usually pay attention to avoid lumbar cold, reduce acute lumbar sprain, warm-up preparations before exercise, weight control and other ways to prevent the emergence of lumbar muscle strain.
