Infantile acne differs from eczema in two ways, the first being a different time of onset and the second being a different appearance pattern. Baby acne occurs in newborns, usually no older than 2 months of age, and most newborns develop acne around 10 days after birth in the form of pimples, which appear as single, scattered lesions. The lesions appear as pimples, single and scattered, because of the metabolism of hormone levels, and will resolve naturally over time without recurrence. Eczema in newborns is caused by allergies to certain substances in the environment, as well as other immune reactions, and the lesions are mainly in the form of pimples and herpes. Parents need to pay attention to their newborn’s diet and external environment in order to manage the condition, as it is a relatively complex disease.
