Subcutaneous edema is caused by the filling of fluid in the spaces between blood vessels. Most of the generalized edema is caused by the lesion of an organ or endocrine disorders, which need timely treatment. Some malignant diseases, such as liver cancer, kidney cancer, stomach cancer and other cancers, can also lead to generalized edema. Apart from that, pregnant women may also suffer from generalized edema due to hormonal changes in the body, but with the termination of pregnancy, the edema will disappear.
