The logical way to take emergency contraceptives is to take them within 72 hours of having sex, preferably within 24 hours.
There are two dosage forms of emergency contraceptive pills currently on the market, one is a simple one tablet that is taken once. The other is a two-pill one, where the second pill is taken 12 hours after taking the first one.
Contraception has a higher success rate when the pill is used correctly. Since emergency contraceptive pills contain large doses of progesterone ingredients, there is a possibility that they may cause some harm to the body and can make the menstrual cycle disruptive. Therefore, emergency contraceptive pills are recommended to be used no more than once in a month and no more than twice in a year.
For women with contraceptive needs, it is recommended to take contraceptive measures, such as condom contraception, oral compound short-acting contraceptives, intrauterine devices and other methods, emergency contraceptive pills are not recommended as a regular means of contraception.
