Dietary considerations for biliary tract surgery

Bile secretion is related to diet, so biliary tract surgery patients, whether before or after surgery, should be careful with their diet. A low-fat diet and less high-fat and high-cholesterol stuff are recommended for biliary tract patients before and after surgery to reduce bile secretion, relieve biliary pressure, and relieve symptoms. Therefore, a light diet is recommended for two weeks after surgery for biliary tract patients. Because different diets lead to different bile secretion situations, such as eating a large amount of greasy, high-fat, high-cholesterol diet, which causes a large amount of bile secretion and increases the pressure on the biliary system, causing upper abdominal discomfort.
