Injecting MTX means injecting methotrexate, and it usually takes four days for HCG to start decreasing in the treatment of ectopic pregnancy, and there is often not much change in the HCG checking on the next day. If the condition of the ruptured ectopic pregnancy is stable, HCG is less than 2000mIU/L, the diameter of the gestational sac is less than 4cm, and there are no contraindications to methotrexate, methotrexate can be used for conservative treatment. Because the ectopic pregnancy may still survive, HCG levels need to be closely monitored during the application of methotrexate. Because methotrexate is slow to take effect, it usually takes about 3 to 7 days. Normally, after four days of methotrexate, the HCG level should drop by 10% or more. If it does not fall to this standard monitoring should continue and if HCG continues to rise, surgical treatment is required. It is recommended that women with conservatively treated ectopic pregnancies closely monitor HCG levels and consult a medical professional for treatment if there is any abnormality, so as to avoid the continuation of the embryo in an ectopic pregnancy.
