The difference between electrical cardioversion and electrical defibrillation

The difference between electrical cardioversion and electrical defibrillation is mainly that the indications are different, but the purpose of both is the same.
1. Electric cardioversion: Cardiac electric cardioversion is to eliminate various tachyarrhythmias by using strong pulse current, passing through the chest wall or directly acting on the heart. It is mainly applied to atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, high-risk pre-excitation syndrome, ventricular flutter and ventricular fibrillation.
2. Electrical defibrillation: mainly used for ventricular fibrillation, atrial fibrillation and ventricular flutter.
There are differences between the two, but there are also similarities. The working principle of the two is basically the same, and they can be cross-applied in the clinic. The ultimate goal of cardioversion and defibrillation is to return the heart rhythm to normal.
