Symptoms of rheumatic headache are headache like wrapping, limbs heavy (limb weakness, heavy), chest tightness, dullness (no appetite, less food), urination (urine is not smooth), stools or loose stools (stools are not shaped).
Rheumatic headache belongs to external headache, which is caused by feeling wind and dampness. When wind-dampness attacks the surface and dampness clouding the clear orifices, the headache is heavy and distended as if wrapped in cloth, accompanied by heavy limbs, chest tightness and dullness, unfavorable urination, or loose stools. The treatment should be to dispel wind, win dampness and clear the orifices. The formula is Qiangwu Sheng Dampness Tang, which consists of Qiangwu, Duhong, Chuanxiong, Fangfeng, Mandragora, Ligustrum, and Glycyrrhiza glabra.
