Allergic rhinitis is characterized by a sudden onset of cold and wind, strange gases (such as paint, pollen, dust, milk, etc.), initial nasal itching and discomfort, frequent sneezing, nasal flow as thin as water, with sudden onset, rapid fading, recurrent, lingering and mostly deficient evidence. Chinese medicine is also known as “congested nose”.
I. The etiology of allergic rhinitis The internal causes of the disease are mostly dysfunction of the internal organs, mainly the lungs, spleen and kidneys are deficient; the external causes are mostly wind and cold, the evil of foreign air invade the nasal orifices and cause the disease. The internal cause is the root cause and the external cause is the symptom, clinical evidence of deficiency is common.
Chinese medicine treatment Chinese medicine mainly treats by tonifying the lung, benefiting the qi, consolidating the surface, strengthening the spleen and warming the kidneys, and treats the symptoms according to different subtypes.
For lung cold-drinking symptoms, Xiao Qing Long Tang with addition and subtraction is used; for lung qi weakness and wind cold symptoms, Yu Ping Feng San with addition and subtraction of Cang Er Zi San; for lung spleen qi deficiency symptoms, Tonic Zhong Yi Qi Tang with addition and subtraction; for kidney yang deficiency and lung loss of warmth, Jin Kui Kidney Qi Wan with addition and subtraction of Yu Ping Feng San.
Acupuncture points: Yin Tang, Ying Xiang, Nong Tong, Feng Chi, Li Gao, and Foot San Li.
Moxibustion: Yin Tang, Shang Xing, Ying Xiang.
