Early symptoms of pancreatic cancer

The reason why pancreatic cancer is the king of cancers nowadays is not only because of the complexity of surgery and the lack of effective chemotherapy drugs after surgery, one of the important reasons is the difficulty of early detection. The early stage is the insidious and atypical symptoms, which can lead to the delay of the disease and even lose the opportunity of surgery. The atypical symptoms in the early stage of pancreatic cancer are summarized as follows: 1. The main symptom is stomach discomfort, and some of them may be accompanied by indigestion, which can be manifested as superficial gastritis or erosive gastritis in gastroscopy. Suggestion: For patients over 60 years old, if they suffer from gastric disease and their symptoms reappear after taking oral medication for a short period of time, it is recommended to go to the hospital for further examination, including abdominal enhancement CT and blood tumor index test. 2. Low back pain. Since pancreatic cancer will invade the abdominal plexus, it will lead to pain and discomfort in the lower back. Most of the patients think they have lumbar spine problems or lumbar muscle strain and consult orthopedics or just perform massage, which will have better effect in the short term, but the symptoms will appear again after a period of time. Suggestion: while treating low back pain, we should consider more, and elderly patients with no obvious relief of symptoms can go to the hospital for routine screening (blood tumor indicators, etc.). 3. Sudden onset of diabetes or aggravation of diabetes. This performance suggests that the function of the pancreas is damaged, and changes should be closely observed, and it is best to exclude other diseases before diagnosing it as an aggravation of diabetes. Suggestion: further examination in hospital is needed to exclude the possibility of pancreatic malignant tumor. 4. Chronic steatorrhea. Defecation 3-5 times a day, mostly after eating greasy food, most patients think it is dysentery or diarrhea, and after the symptoms are relieved by oral medication, they will not go to the hospital for further examination and miss the disease. Suggestion: If the number of stools increases and contains fat (after the stool, there is a layer of grease on the toilet water), you need to go to the hospital to check the exocrine function of the pancreas (such patients are mostly chronic pancreatitis), and if necessary, you need to exclude the possibility of malignant diseases. 5, unexplained wasting. If you lose more than 5kg in a short period of time (3-6 months), you need to pay attention to it (except for those who lose weight), this symptom is the most atypical, and most of the malignant tumors will have the performance in the advanced stage. 6. Other. For example, jaundice, but most of the patients with jaundice will seek medical attention, only to be seen in the liver disease clinic at the beginning, and will be misdiagnosed as jaundice hepatitis, but the diagnosis will be clear soon after examination.
