Schizophrenia is a common psychiatric disorder that tends to develop in adolescence, with an incidence of about 6 per 1,000, but can account for more than 60-70% of inpatients. After the first episode is cured, 80% of patients may have another episode, and some patients do not reach full normalcy even during the inter-episode period. The outcome is related to a variety of factors, including age at first onset, personality, genetics, urgency of onset, form of symptomatology, and degree of first treatment. However, all other factors are beyond human control. Only once the disease is detected, early and standardized treatment and the best possible treatment can have a great impact on the long-term outcome – which is under human control. But it is this point that is often delayed because of family prejudice and misunderstanding, which is very frustrating. Therefore, families are reminded that once they find or suspect that their relatives may be suffering from the disease, they should go to a regular psychiatric specialty hospital as soon as possible. The main symptoms of the disease: typical symptoms, hallucinations, the patient can hear (or see) sounds (or images) that do not actually exist, the most common is to hear someone talking badly about him – commentary hallucinations, or telling him what to do – command hallucinations; delusions. The patient is convinced of things that do not actually exist, such as the belief that someone is watching his every move with a camera, or that some organization is after him. Disorganized speech, saying things that no one else can understand, disorganized behavior, running around naked, sudden and unexplained impulses, etc. Atypical symptoms: different from the original withdrawn, few words, reluctance to contact with the outside world, sloppy life, lack of concern for loved ones, reduced ability to study, work and live. Due to the limitations of the current medical level, there is no objective test for diagnosis, and psychiatric examination is the most reliable method. The best treatment method is medication, but due to the high relapse rate, it is necessary to take medication for a long time.
