What does pulmonary fibrosis mean?

Pulmonary fibrosis is a pathological state, mostly seen in interstitial pneumonia, which is formed by excessive proliferation of fibroblasts after damage to alveolar tissue cells due to excessive repair.
Pulmonary fibrosis is a structural abnormality caused by abnormal repair of the organism, and is the end-stage pathological change of interstitial lung disease. The exact pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis is not clear, and its occurrence may be related to lung lesions, immune system lesions, drug factors, radiation therapy, the environment, and genetics. It is characterized by a dry cough, progressive dyspnea, and a steady decline in lung function as the disease progresses.
It is recommended to seek prompt medical attention for treatment of pulmonary fibrosis.
