How to tell when the inside of a surgical wound is healing

To determine that the inside of the surgical wound is healing well, you can generally observe from the time, local performance of the wound and systemic symptoms.
1. Time: Incisions in different parts of the body have different healing times, for example, the head and neck need 4~5 days, and the lower abdomen and perineum need 6~7 days. It is practical to determine the internal healing of the wound through time.
2. Local manifestations of the wound: Observe whether there is redness, swelling, warmth and pressure pain in the wound, and whether there is oozing of blood and fluid. Pressing the deep wound with pus accumulation will cause fluctuation and obvious pain.
3. Systemic symptoms: patients with surgical wound infection, accompanied by fever, chills and other clinical manifestations. If the infection enters the blood, there will be other signs of bacteremia.
The specific healing of the patient’s wound needs to be reviewed by the patient in the hospital and finally determined by the professional doctor.
