Effects of Buddha’s Hand Citron

Foshan has the effect of regulating qi and dredging the liver, and can be used for chest and hypochondrium distension and pain (distension and pain in the chest and rib area), etc. Citron has the effect of relaxing the middle and regulating qi, and can be used for distension and discomfort of the abdomen and stomach.
1. Forsythia is pungent, bitter, sour, warm in nature, and belongs to the spleen, liver, stomach and lung meridians. It has the effects of relieving pain and harmonizing the stomach, regulating Qi and dredging the liver, drying dampness and resolving phlegm (expelling dampness by drying dampness and resolving phlegm). It can be used for stagnation of Qi in the spleen and stomach, vomiting and hypereating, gastric and epigastric plumpness; stagnation of Qi in the liver and stomach, chest and hypochondrium distension and pain; and coughing with profuse phlegm. The adverse effects of this medicine are not clear, and should be taken with caution in cases of yin deficiency with fire and without qi stagnation.
2. Citron is pungent, bitter, sour, warm in nature, and belongs to liver, lung and spleen meridians. It has the effects of relaxing the middle and regulating qi, relieving depression and dredging the liver, drying dampness and resolving phlegm. It can be used for spleen and stomach qi stagnation, vomiting, epigastric plumpness; liver and stomach qi stagnation, chest and hypochondrium distension and pain; cough and phlegm. The adverse effects of this medicine are not clear, and should be taken with caution by deficient persons.
