Yanhuosuo, also known as yuanhu, xuanhuosuo, yuan huosuo, is a common clinical class of drugs that activate blood circulation and relieve pain.
Yanhusuo is the dried tuber of the poppy plant Yanhusuo, with pungent, bitter and warm flavor, attributing to the heart, liver and spleen meridians, Yanhusuo has several aliases in the clinic, and some people call Yanhusuo Yuanhu, Yuanhuosuo or Xuanhuosuo.
Yanhusuo has the effects of activating blood circulation, promoting qi circulation and relieving pain, and can be used to treat chest paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest) caused by stagnation of qi and blood stasis, stomach pain caused by cold stagnation, stomach pain caused by stagnation of blood circulation, distension and pain in the chest, dysmenorrhea, menstrual irregularities and other conditions.
