Can mid-stage gastric cancer be cured?

It is possible to cure the middle stage of stomach cancer. For any kind of cancer, we can simply classify it into early, intermediate and late stage. Intermediate gastric cancer usually refers to gastric cancer patients who are neither early gastric cancer nor advanced gastric cancer, i.e. patients who are neither very early gastric cancer but also do not have distant metastasis. The evaluation of the curative effect of gastric cancer is usually based on the TNM stage of the International Union Against Cancer. For patients with TNM stage I, the cure rate usually reaches more than 80%, while the cure rate for stage II patients is more than 50%, stage III is more than 30%, and stage IV is less than 10%. Therefore, it is possible to cure gastric cancer in the middle stage, and whether it can be cured or not mainly depends on the stage and pathological cytology type.
