How long does it take to regain muscle strength in cerebral infarction hemiplegia

Mild cerebral infarction can usually recover most of the muscle strength after 1 to 2 weeks, but if it is a large cerebral infarction or critical cerebral infarction, it will take months or even years to recover the muscle strength, and some patients will be left with permanent sequelae.
Cerebral infarction hemiplegia, one of the common symptoms of cerebral infarction, can also be accompanied by sensory impairment, aphasia, ataxia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, coma and so on. If mild muscle strength abnormality occurs, generally through active medication and general treatment, the muscle strength of grade 4 to 5 can be restored in about two weeks.
However, if the cerebral infarction is large, or the infarction site is very critical, damaging a large number of nerve cells as well as nerve fiber cells, the recovery from this paralysis takes longer and may take months or even years. A considerable number of patients will be left with serious and permanent sequelae.
Therefore, early rehabilitation for patients with cerebral infarction is the most important and crucial step in order to obtain a good prognosis.
