Stroke is the name of a Chinese medical condition known clinically as stroke, which is a group of cerebrovascular diseases caused by organic brain damage. Strokes can be divided into ischemic strokes and hemorrhagic strokes, and their causes are somewhat different. Ischemic stroke, also known as cerebral infarction, accounts for 70-80% of all strokes, including atherosclerotic thrombotic cerebral infarction (cerebral thrombosis), cerebral embolism and lacunar cerebral infarction. Its causes mainly include vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, arterial inflammatory diseases, cerebral arterial malformation or arterial entrapment; cardiac diseases such as atrial fibrillation, endocarditis, mitral valve prolapse and prosthetic heart valves; and hematologic disorders such as thrombocythemia, erythrocytosis, leukocytosis, and hypercoagulable blood, which can result in impaired blood supply to the brain and infarction formation. Ischemic stroke includes cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage, the causes of which are mainly hypertension combined with small arteriosclerosis, intracranial aneurysm, in addition to cerebrovascular malformation, aplastic anemia, hemophilia, and the use of anticoagulant or thrombolytic drugs can also be the cause of hemorrhagic stroke. To summarize, there are many causes of stroke. Elderly patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus and other diseases at high risk of cerebrovascular disease should actively treat the primary disease, do a good job of preventive treatment, and if there are any uncomfortable symptoms, they should be diagnosed and treated in a timely manner.
